ERROR ANALYSIS IN WRITTEN PRODUCTION: GRAMMATICAL ERRORS AND THEIR SOURCES IN INDONESIAN LEARNERS OF ENGLISH

Writing skill has been considered the most challenging part of foreign language learning. This situation may be because writing is not innate and requires cognitive skills learners. While writing, learners must able to perform different activities simultaneously (Flynn & Stainthorp, 2006). The area learners’ errors heavily researched many would like find causes problems help in improving their skills. Hence, present study aims analyze types generated by L2 trace sources errors. findings indicate grammatical were frequently committed due fact that L1 interfered process production knowledge grammar was limited as well incomplete. author suggests having a bigger sample for further studies with same or proficiency levels order investigate whether they have an effect on produced In addition, elaboration each error category its should provided contribute pedagogical impact study.
